Speaker’s Profile:
Dr. June Siew heads the DAS Academy and is a strong advocate for inclusive education. She holds a Doctor in Education from University College London and Nanyang Technological University, and is a Fellow with the Register of Educational Therapists (Asia). The DAS Academy, under Dr. June’s leadership, has been recognised as a domain expert in Special Education and a training partner of the National Council of Social Service (NCSS).
Dr. June is an accomplished speaker and trainer. She is an esteemed educator at National Institute of Education and the Ministry of Education and a frequent speaker at local and overseas conferences on special needs.
Session Outcomes:
- Recognise learner diversity and the benefits of inclusive practices.
- Understand and address the learning barriers to literacy experienced by children.
- Apply the principles of Universal Design for Learning to create literacy lessons that support all learners.
About DAS Academy:
Formerly the training services arm of the Dyslexia Association of Singapore (DAS), DAS Academy was officially incorporated on 19 February 2010, to provide training services for parents, caregivers and educators to be well-equipped with skills in supporting learners with dyslexia and other commonly co-occurring Special Educational Needs (SEN).
