About the Speaker:
Scott, Vice President of Bilinguistics, has been a bilingual speech pathologist in Austin, Texas since 2004. He serves bilingual children in schools and clinics, with research focused on autism, Velopharyngeal insufficiencies, and second-language learners. A national and international presenter, Scott is known for engaging, humorous talks and for turning staff passions into impactful books, courses, and presentations.
Session Outcomes:
This presentation equips educators and professionals with practical, classroom-based strategies to support students with speech and language disorders. Participants will gain foundational knowledge of typical speech and language development and its impact on academic and literacy outcomes. The session introduces targeted interventions to improve speech clarity and language skills, using curriculum content and storybooks to build vocabulary, social interaction, and self-esteem. Emphasis is placed on collaboration among educators, therapists, and families to foster meaningful communication and academic growth.
