Shannon’s Story
After collaborating with AWWA on a school project, I learnt that inclusion is something that starts with us – individuals. We can learn to treat persons with disabilities or special needs as no different from us, and this may help them to be able to integrate into society more easily.
Persons with disabilities have different talents and are unique individuals just like us! We should seek to be kind to everyone around us, because not all disabilities are visible and at times, we may not know what is going on in the lives of people beyond what we see on the surface. Sparing a thought for others goes a long way and it can also make someone’s day!
Let’s all be kind to everyone we meet and include everyone regardless of their backgrounds and abilities.
