AWWA Inclusion Experts Series – 2nd 2021

On 19 June, the second AIES webinar of 2021 saw the participation of over 700 attendees from preschools, mainstream schools, early intervention centres, special schools, allied health professionals, social service agency partners and ministries. The session was facilitated by Ms Juliet Tanuwira, Assistant Manager, AWWA Inclusion Inc.

Keynote Speaker:
Dr. Amanda Niland has had a long career in the field of Early Childhood Education as both teacher, researcher and lecturer. She has taught in a range of early childhood, primary school and early intervention settings. She is passionate about inclusive education, and about the power of creativity and the arts to give every child a voice. Amanda taught in undergraduate and postgraduate programs at Macquarie University for more than 10 years, before joining the Early Childhood team at the University of Sydney in 2016. She is also the author of two picture books for young children. ​

Session Objectives:
– Explore ways to use the creative arts for working toward inclusion
– Hands-on arts exploration to reflect on the various challenges and inclusive opportunities that arise in the day-to-day life of a busy early childhood setting
